- Guide and support track shoes
The precise geometry and position of the idlers ensure that track pads maintain the correct trajectory during travel, preventing crawler tracks tracking or derailment.
Meshing with the track shoes, it shares part of the weight of the fuselage, reduces the ground pressure, and improves the passability of the equipment on soft ground.
- Transfer the driving force
In conjunction with sprocket, the engine power is efficiently transmitted to crawler bottom plates, to make crane move smoothly and steer precisely.

LIEBHERR Crane Take-up Wheel Daily Maintenance:
- Checkthe surface of the idler for cracks, deformation or abnormal wear (if the tooth surface is worn more than 15% of the original thickness, it needs to be replaced).
- Observe whether the seals are intact and whether there is any grease leakage or sediment ingress.
- Measurethe amount of track sag (standard value: 20-40mm), too loose and easy to derail, too tight to increase the load of idler.
